This holiday season, Poppie’s Dough wanted to show our appreciation to the dedicated healthcare professionals who sacrifice time with their own families to care for patients in need at Chicago hospitals by sending them some Christmas cookies for a little holiday celebration of their own. Fifty doctors and nurses working with critically ill patients recovering from strokes, head trauma, and spinal injuries at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Neuro Spine Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) were treated to trays of Poppie’s best selling cookie assortments. The cookies were gifted as a show of appreciation for the work they do year round, even at the cost of time with their families on the holidays.Cookies in the assorted trays included Poppie’s classic Fresh Baked Soft Cookies in the flavors of White Chocolate Macadamia, Ginger Crisp, Holiday Candy Crunch, Candy Cane, Cranberry White Chocolate, Oatmeal Raisin, Sugar, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Cherry, and Vegan Chocolate Chunk. There were also decorated cookies including French Macarons and Wedding Cookies and holiday-themed Shortbread Cut Out Cookies of Santa, Snowmen, and Christmas Ornaments. All of Poppie’s Dough’s cookies are made from scratch daily using family recipes developed right in Chicago. Liza Cohen, a member of the Northwestern Memorial Hospital team, shared pictures of the staff enjoying the refreshments on Christmas Day and reported that the staff’s overall favorite treats were the Vegan Chocolate Chunk soft cookies, which can be ordered from Poppie’s Dough in fresh baked cookie form or as frozen, bake-at-home dough.
